Eva Valik is a partner in the New York office of BurgherGray LLP. She has more than twenty years of experience representing issuers, originators, placement agents, and other deal parties in complex structured finance transactions. She has participated in the design and negotiation of numerous innovative securitizations and transactions that employed securitization principles to achieve desired economic and risk allocation outcomes for her clients. She began her career at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP (New York) as an associate and continued as a counsel before joining BurgherGray LLP.
Eva has represented issuers and asset managers in dozens of CDO and CLO transactions. She has had extensive experience with both public issuances and private placements of residential and commercial mortgage-backed securities. Eva has represented several originators of consumer and student loans in secured warehouse facilities. In addition, Eva has experience with asset-backed transactions utilizing nontraditional asset classes, such as life annuities. She participated in the structuring and development of an exchange-traded product that referenced the value of commodities and housing indices. She has assisted with mergers and acquisitions in which a portion of the underlying assets or collateral consisted of structured finance securities. She has also advised on various litigations and settlements involving CDO and RMBS transactions.
