Before there was BurgherGray, there was Bryant Burgher Jaffe & Roberts, the firm founded by Gopal Burgher and his former Skadden Arps colleagues, Scott Jaffe and Paul Roberts, and NYU Law School classmate, Brandon Seth Bryant, in 2009. When that firm crumbled under the weight of its modest success and dissolved in 2012, Gopal had to make a choice: he could start from scratch by forming a new firm or he could join forces with an existing firm and champion the story of a move that positioned him to better serve his clients. Concerned about projecting an image of instability, he chose the latter, taking a group of lawyers, including two-thirds of the equity partners, from his former firm with him.
