Mavis Abada is a corporate Associate in the New York Office of BurgherGray. She is an experienced transactional attorney with a dynamic practice comprising mergers and acquisitions, bank lending, investment management, real estate, and general corporate and commercial transactions.
Mavis represents a wide range of clients of various sizes and stages of development, from small emerging companies and entrepreneurs to middle market companies and Fortune-ranked global enterprises, across various industries, including financial services, healthcare, technology, media / telecommunications, energy, and pharmaceutical. She regularly advises on complex cross-border M&A and private equity transactions, as well as capital markets, investment management (private funds), bank lending and private credit matters. Historically, her practice has focused in and around the EMEA geographic area, giving her a strong command of the transactional execution cultures across such region. She represents sponsors, targets, sellers, buyers, boards of directors, and financial institutions, among others. Clients regularly rely on Mavis as a trusted adviser who leverages her broad international business and transactional experience, strong work ethic, organizational skills, natural curiosity and exceptional sense of commitment to consistently deliver exceptional value for them.
Prior to BurgherGray, Mavis was a Senior Associate in an internationally recognized Nigerian corporate law firm. She earned her LL.M. from Harvard Law School and is admitted to practice in New York and Nigeria. She is a member of the New York City Bar, being active in its Emerging Companies and Venture Capital Committee.
