Ariel E. Finkelstein, an Associate at BurgherGray LLP, represents corporate clients in commercial litigation in state and federal court. Her practice spans financial services litigation, construction disputes, employment, federal government investigations and prosecutions, internal investigations, and corporate compliance counseling. 

Ariel argues pre-trial motions, including motions for summary judgment and motions to dismiss, and handles complex discovery in commercial litigation involving thousands of documents. She has also obtained favorable outcomes at the appellate level, including a recent appeal granted by the New York Appellate Division, Second Department, on behalf of Nationstar. See Nationstar v. Scrubbs, Index No. 2024-08211 (decided March 11, 2026). She advises clients on compliance with federal and state regulations, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and consumer protection laws. She regularly drafts and negotiates settlement agreements in real estate and financial services matters. 

Earlier in her career, Ariel represented national and multinational companies in civil litigation and toxic tort matters. She served on litigation teams for complex products liability cases and supported national coordinating counsel for major cosmetic companies in talcum powder litigation. In those matters she contributed to case preparation and strategy and defended more than 50 depositions. Ariel began her legal career as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Garry J. Furnari and the Honorable Craig R. Harris of the Superior Court of New Jersey, where she managed motions and trial preparation across two dockets, drafted orders and legal memoranda, and analyzed briefs, pleadings, and evidentiary records to support judicial decision-making. 

Ariel holds a J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where she served as Articles Editor of the Journal of Conflict Resolution and earned the Montefiore-Einstein Certificate in Bioethics and Medical Humanities. She received her B.A. in Political Science and History from the University of California, Berkeley. She is admitted to practice in New York and Connecticut and before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.
