Jessica Kopas

Partner | MIAMI | NEW YORK

Jessica Kopas is a Partner at BurgherGray with over twenty years of experience in complex commercial litigation. Her practice encompasses a broad range of areas including business fiduciary litigation, business torts, complex trust and estate matters, probate litigation, real estate disputes, class actions, and regulatory matters.

Throughout her career, Jessica has established herself as a formidable litigator, successfully handling several high-profile cases. Notable among these was her role as co-lead counsel in a complex trade secrets case that resulted in one of Florida’s top ten verdicts in 2017. She also served on the litigation team for one of Florida’s largest Ponzi scheme cases involving fraudulent structured settlements and participated in the widely publicized “missing millionaire” case that required coordinating with parties across multiple countries. Jessica’s practice is marked by her ability to navigate complex jurisdictional issues and manage sophisticated client relationships. She has represented clients before state and federal courts, including bankruptcy courts, and has extensive experience in alternative dispute resolution, including mediations through JAMS and the American Arbitration Association.

Jessica is passionate about giving back to and making a difference in her community. She is an active member of the National Diversity Council, the Florida Bar Association, and the Broward Bar Association. Her commitment to community further manifests through her involvement with the United Way of Broward County’s Tocqueville Society as well as the Moot Court high school competitions through which she contributes to the development and training of future young litigators.

Jessica earned her Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad College of Law and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management with an English minor from the State University of New York at Geneseo.
